Cessna Hydrolock Seat Recliner Overhaul
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Anyone know where I can have a hydrolock seat reclining mechanism rebuilt? My copilot seat has one of these and while it is awesome it is starting to have problems slipping when pressure is place on the seat back. It doesn't do it with my kids but it will occasionally give way and flop back to the full reclined position on an adult. As you might imagine this could prove to be an issue if the first this someone grabs is the yolk on takeoff... sorta similar to the infamous Cessna slipping seat.

I love answering my own threads... Anyway, for future members looking to overhaul one of these:

Do you have to send them the seats to rebuild or will they sell you the parts?
I'm not sure if mine are the "hydro locks" they have a curved arm with notches in it and a locking leaver. The last lug is broken off both arms.

Interesting that this subject has come up... Friend of mine is in the process of designing and building those parts out of titanium... He is looking into doing them as a PMA replacements... Will keep you posted on his progress if interested..
