Cessna Safety Initiative

Anyone have any idea how onerous the newly announced cessna (small c) safety initiative is going to be for 150 - 180 owners?

Thanks,

Re: Cessna Safety Initiative

The video has been out for a while that shows the visual inspection, and the .pdf has the inspection detailed.

I performed all the items at the last annual on my 57 182. It wasn't difficult, but I do have an inspection camera that helped.

I did send out my engine mount when I had the engine out for major just before this, and there was one minor fatigue crack found in the lower mount and was repired with an enhanced brace. I have 0 corrosion in the airframe, and just under 3400 hours, so it can happen, and I'm glad I took the time to inspect.

Took about 3 hours to do the whole thing, but I'm sure it will vary depending on the mechanic doing the work.

Hope this helps.

Re: Cessna Safety Initiative

Thanks for the reply. I got the impression from the vid and a posting on another site that the requirements had just changed for 100 series planes.
