I’m just glad I bought the 500 hr OVH kit instead of getting a set of new mags to swap out and OVH at my leisure. The prices are just too crazy.

I did the same thing and after a hundred hours discovered my new replacement parts were junk. Finally on the 3rd removal and “rebuild/500 hour inspection” in less than 400 hours they seem to be working good. I finally sent them to Aircraft Magneto Service in Montana for my most recent go around, excellent shop, highly recommend.

Kurt, do you know if those were Kelly Aerospace or Champion parts?

Thx, Ron

Ron,

I’m sorry but I don't know the answer to that question. I do not know how to identify good or bad parts. I would give Aircraft Magneto Service a call, they are great people, they may be able to help you identify if you have good parts or bad. I’m sorry I dont have better info for you.
