Christmas Weather on Foreflight

I can hear thunder in the distance, an as I often do, I had a look at the weather on Foreflight and was pleasantly surprised by the reporting.

Love them. I've been watching the weather and did some flying today. I've gotten a kick out of them all day. They disappear when airborne though!

Re: Christmas Weather on Foreflight

That cutesy weather stuff actually kinda irritates me. The weather forecasts in the local newspaper try to be cutesy too, and not just for xmas but year-round. Here's an example from yesterday's paper:
Thursday: sleigh bells ring on a cloudy night
Friday: it's cold, the sun shines bright
Saturday: clouds hide the light part way
sunday: before the rain takes it away
monday: and showers return today

And these are actually not too bad- most are worse. Sometimes so busy with the rhyming that there's no x info at all. Kinda funny the first time you see it, but after a while not so much. Trying to get a straight weather forecast in this newspaper is like trying to get a straight answer out of Groucho Marx..

It must have been hard to read the newspaper with such big furry green hands!

Re: Christmas Weather on Foreflight

I'll admit that I'm not graced with an abundance of xmas spirit, but I could handle this cutesy weather IF it was just at xmas time. Trouble is, it's year round. Just kind of a sorry ass situation when you can get more information from the illustration than from the text.

And Rob, a newspaper is something old fogeys read to find out what's going on in the world. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer reading the newspaper to scanning an internet feed-- just like I prefer an actual book to kindle.

It is what you line your birdcage or wrap fish with, I suggest the New York Times.
