I'm jealous. I just paid $2.59 a gallon for unleaded regular (89 octane), that's on the cheaper side of normal ofor my part of rural western Washington. Been paying more than that lately.

I have no idea where Brainerd is, but you can be assured that something is screwed up on that supposedly 98 octane fuel.
Unless it is pretty heavily laced with tetraethyl lead, you're not going to get the octane rating up that high. That's the reason we're still using 100LL in most of our airplanes.
I have been under the impression that all mogas throughout the USA was, by law, to be unleaded.
