Cost of Condition Inspection

Question for those of you with an experimental airplane that you don't have the repairman's certificate for; how much do you pay for a condition inspection?

My S-6 ran me $300 with me helping. Took about 6 hours. Actually was very instructional.

Re: Cost of Condition Inspection

For a CH701. In 2002 I had made a major change and was required to get my Simonini engine install inspected. I was lucky that the FAA regional inspector could catch it on the way by when headed to the Vo Tech aviation school where they have a twice a year standing appointment. That cost me nothing, or at least not enough that I recall it. The following year it was $150 at the airport the first time and $250 the last time in 2006. I always pulled the covers off and had it open for him.

Re: Cost of Condition Inspection

Mine usually runs $150. I do all the work, then have an A&P or AI inspect my work, check the engine compression and sign my logbook.

Re: Cost of Condition Inspection

Are you looking at getting a thunder mustang or a kitfox? The planes and systems can vary greatly changing the costs. My Avid runs around 150 bucks a year with me doing all the work.
