Costa Rica to Seattle day 1 and 2

Costa Rica to Seattle trip. Time 32hrs 51 minutes
3400 NM
398 Gallons

Day 1 early depart to Ilopango , refuel and to Tapachula for customs, then to Huatulco for the night.
8:22 hrs in total, very nice flight , bit bumpy and cloudy in el Salvador, then easy all the way to Tapachula , only problem a 30kts headwind. :(
Mexico customes , easy fast and friendly, Huatulco very nice and cheap, great food!

Day 2 Huatulco Mazatlan all flight along the coast, beautifull scenery, bit bumpy in the mountains, overflew Acapulco , stopped at Ixtapa for fuel and landed in the afternoon in Mazatlan which again was nice , cheap and friendly. 7:11 hrs

I love those apparent brisk walk rate of closure appraoches. And I think I saw an angle across the wide runway on a strong crosswind approach. Very good.

Thank you very very much for posting that. That would be a very neat trip but can't imagine the butterflies in my stomach. Not so much the actual flying but dealing with the authorities.

Dealing with the authorities went super smooth, no problems at all, very easy, very friendly, very cheap fuel and airport fees ($4.00 a night).
Great food and felt very safe.
It was a pleasant surprise Mexico. I heard horror stories about corrupt police and all, they are tales I think.
