courierguy wrote:Nice..... but at 2:47 there is a shot of the pilot hand propping it, counter clock wise. I could swear that I propped my T-Craft from the left side, behind, so clock wise rotation, right?! We all know the Rotax 912 turns "backwards", CCW. Am I all wrong here or is that video goofy? Or, is that another engine that turns CCW, used in a Cub? WTF?

silflexer wrote:Only engines I know of that turn backwards are the russian radials. Even the Rotax turns the same direction- clockwise as viewed from the cockpit. Better get a heavier left foot if you decide to run your engine backwards.
tcj wrote:My Rotax two stroke gear drive prop rotates left hand. The nose turns right when the throttle is pushed in, when the tail comes up the nose turns right again, on climb out the nose wants to turn right. Left pedal required but I never had to think about it when transitioning from being a Cherokee pilot.
Of course it's left pedal, this stuff isn't aircraft specific, it's simple physics... opposite turning prop, opposite direction effects.... it musta just my turn to have a dyslexic moment
