Re: Decathlon on Barnstormers...

I never got the Hooker vibe from their comments… more like beautiful women are expensive any way you slice it… like an airplane!

Hey!!! What's wrong with hookers and airplanes? Part of what makes Nevada a fun state to live in.

Agreed, if you can't handle being called out for being misogynistic, then sit on your hands and don't post degrading crap. ;-)

Re: Decathlon on Barnstormers...

I dunno, I suppose I carry a bit of personal weight on my shoulders for the image of the website and the atmosphere we set. Maybe that gal is the wife or girlfriend of one of our members or readers? Maybe she's a pilot too and wasn't too stoked to be accused of using sex to sell an airplane?

I am sensitive to this stuff because I want to be able to recommend the site to female pilots friends without them having to read "if it flies, floats, or fucks, you're better off renting" every time an attractive female is shown near an airplane.

I agree with you in principle Zane but remember, a female pilot is already used to male pilots.

You're probably right, but it's a sad commentary and maybe one of the reasons it's such a sausage fest here. We lost one of the Ladies Love Taildraggers gals a while back from something posted here that she took issue with. Oregonmaule chased her out of the clubhouse. I don't remember details. In my complex view, I was just as annoyed for her not being able to take a joke. :D Same with the guy that time who didn;t think drug trafficking in tiny airplanes was "Cheech and Chong" funny.

Well, anyway, I'm off to surf some porn. Have a nice weekend guys.

Hey, attractive women have been used as sales gimmicks for just about everything. That doesn't make them bad folk, nor does it make the advertiser a bad person. This is from a 1923 Jordan automobile ad:

:D Enjoy your porn.

It's a good site. We have some strong personalities here but that's just the nature of who we are. I bet there are more than a few lady "lurkers" out there who stay just outside this testosterone-laden minefield.

Re: Decathlon on Barnstormers...

Hey Z whatever happened to that thread about how we don't have enough women here. Then it morphed into how some of us men are pigs for doing what this thread is now doing. hahaha

I like it though, I am one of the pigs. Oink :D

Re: Decathlon on Barnstormers...

I agree with Z that the comments here do display a bit of a misogynistic tone. Having said that, whoever made the decision to use that image for their ad on Barnstormers, sure did know their target market. Look how much more traffic that it's driving to their ad. I've never considered a Decathalon before, but I sure am now! ;0)

I don't even remember. Maybe if I fixed the "show user's posts" feature we could track it down based on the user. :)

What real man doesn't appreciate a beautiful gal like the one at the beginning of the thread.

Here is one for the ladies. This is not me. It's Gump so send you PMs to him.
