I would say they absolutely worked for me , and if you are thinking of flying in the backcountry get your mods, they do make a difference.
Obviously it does not substitute a ton of practice but will give you better margins and more safety.
The very first mod I bought were BAS seat belts, then the AoA indicator , those two enhance safety, all the other mods help with performance substantially.
