Re: Do you have a motorcycle license? (please respond!)

I've been riding my own bikes since 1971..still own my old '71 Honda 350CL that I bought new for $750. Bike still runs with 37,000 miles on it. My second bike was an '88 Honda 600. My present Bike is a '94 VT 1100C Shadow that I bought new. It has about 38,000 miles and runs like new. I love to ride the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming and the Black Hills of South Dakota. I would sell my plane before I would sell my bike. Rode to Sturgis for 28 years..NOBODY ever gave me any Crap about riding a Honda!!!
Have several friends who ride Harleys...they used to take me along to run for parts when their Harleys broke down on the roadside.

I've got my Harley for sale. A buddy of mine is real interested so I'm kinda holding it for him. It's a 2003 (88 inch) Fireman's edition Road King. 7900 miles. Yes, seven thousand nine hundred + some change. If I can find a clean Metralla, that would be a good match. That damn Harley weighs more than an tricked out Taylorcraft.

Now you're talking! This is the stuff I grew up with-- Bultaco, Ossa, Montesa, Greeves, CZ, Maico, Husky, Hodaka, Sachs, Zundapp, Rickman Metisse......
When I was in junior high, I wanted a Bultaco Pursang so damn bad I could taste it. I had some (lucky!) friends who owned Honda's, a Hodaka & a Sachs, but I could never talk my folks into buying me one. By the time I had any money, I was into street bikes & bought my panhead at age 20. Been outa motorcycles for 20 years but still like old harleys & the old school dirt bikes.

Never got a license in part because I was too young when I got my first bike, 1970 Honda 450. Traded up to a 1972 750 (with the four cylinders across). Rode from 14 or so until I was 17-18. Had my pilot's license then and aviation became my all consuming passion. Didn't ride again until around 2001. Was in Florida having my midlife crises and rented some Yamaha sport bike. Technically, you were supposed to have a motorcycle license to rent one but I slipped through the cracks. Guy renting them tells me "this bike will go 160." I said "not with me on it." I really didn't like the feel or riding position much. Every spring when the weather turns nice, I threaten to get a Harley. Maybe this year.

Best,

I have had a motorcycle license since 1957 and rode until two year ago. Miss riding a bit but not the fools in cars who think we are targets.

Been riding since I was 12 years old. Never been bikeless since 1966. Riding and flying are my two passions.

Still trying to figure out a way to strap the Triumph scrambler to the floats. :D

Bought a bike and got my motorcycle license in 2008, then I decided to see how much trouble I could get myself in.

I will own a bike again, I got into the dual sport thing and owned a BMW 650GS Dakar and a Suzuki DR350, both have been sold since.

Dang bike always wanted to take a nap, but I sure had a lot of fun!

I have one, got it after being a pilot though. I had never ridden a motorcycle until this past summer when I decided I should take the course. It was two days, I rode those two days, passed, and haven't ridden since. Money is for a plane, not a bike...yet.

I raced Motocross and Enduros back in the early 70's.. I still have the bike I won the 125 CC Fla amateur championship with in my garage..... I lost 3 very close friends on street bikes within a 9 month period in 1976. Two were killed instantly,, the last one lingered for 4 months in the hospital... That image convinced me to NEVER ride a street bike. [-X .. They do look like fun though..

Looks like it is holding about 80+ percent. The only way I can think of to find a higher percentage online is a MC forum/website.
SOMEBODY ought to tell the MC promotions/sales people so BCP gets more 'targeted' advertising (read 'more valuable'). Also everyone knows ALL pilots are rich :^o.....(We know better, but we don't have to tell the advertisers).

......even though I work for a motorcycle company.

Sounds like a job for 58Skylane.

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
