And actually, fished/waterski-ed and icefished there in a land far ago and long, long away. In fact recall seeing what was probably a Call-Air coming back for the JL strip, presumably empty, going back for another load of pesticide, over Johnson Lake. Didn't know they were approved for aileron rolls... but the statute of limitations has probably run out. Ya' CAN'T make this stuff up.

The Lake strip was right on course on a X-C a few years ago, and looked OK, with a couple aeroplanes tied town.

We Easterners have Alton Bay, NH (B18) on Lake Winnipesaukee which becomes an uncontrolled ice airport every winter when the ice gets thick enough. And you don't need skis to land on it.
