Drooped ailerons c180

Hi all,

Looking at a 180 and noticed that both ailerons are misaligned with the wingtip. Both are around 1” lower than the wingtip.

What’s strange is that they’re both perfectly aligned with the flaps however.

Is this a washout issue?

Thanks

Re: Drooped ailerons c180

Have the wings been reskinned at some time or another (new tanks/damage)? Any major accident history? Due to it being both sides and they line up with the flaps could it be the wingtip tail that is high? Are the tips original to the plane?

I bet the ailerons were reskinned at some point and the sweep at the tip was set wrong.

Re: Drooped ailerons c180

We were told no damage history but found a log entry for repairs to the wingtip, leading edge and aileron with 337.

However that was just for one side yet the droop is in both.

Might be worth a call to Scott Mauch at Beegles in Greeley CO.

Pretty easy to check if the flaps are too far down, it would have to be quite a bit out of whack to look like that.
