Can't wait to go back this year just for the night air show

Last year was the first time I saw the night show (had to leave before the 2010 final day), and it was spectacular. I can't imagine doing aerobatics in the dark, but it's sure fun to watch others do them.

The night airshow is absolutely incredible. That alone is worth the trip to Airventure, but there's so much more...

I'll be there all week.

Must be unbelievably difficult to do aerobatics at night. Hats off to all of them. I've landed floatplanes at night a few times and appreciate how much harder it is to judge height and distance at night. Landed a few wheel planes as well without a landing light or runway lights, and ditto on references.

Didn't some blue brick biplane grind itself up after landing inverted instead of doing an inverted ribbon pickup a while ago? I think it was JoAnn Osterud, who was a pretty capable aerobatic pilot.

Video of the Osterud crash. Walked away uninjured.
