EDM-350 Field Report
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
Can anyone within the BCP offer their insight and maybe a field report on the JPI EDM-350 Engine Monitor ? Yes I realize it's classified as experimental, that's not an issue for my purposes.
Thank you in advance for thoughts and input, cheers

I've got one, I love it. It's an affordable entry into an engine monitor, and I really like how modular it is. Buy what sensors you can now, and add the rest later. Fits into a 3-1/8 hole, mine fits in my old tach location.
I bought mine with the "full package," or the P5 connector. I've been steadily adding sensors as my budget and time allows. Next additions are fuel flow and MAP.
The screen is bright and daylight readable. The user interface is a little clunky with just a couple of buttons, but its easy enough to figure out for the most part. I still haven't figured out the lean-finder. The Big Mixture Pull method works good for me though.
If can afford a CGR-30, I'd get one. I couldn't, and I'm happy with my EDM-350.

Thanks TomCat12,
I do like the "expandability" concept how ever I've been told that each expansion requires the unit to be returned to JPI for re-programing can you confirm or de-bunk this requirement ?
Cheers,
