Nothing beats twisting a real throttle but the usefulness of electric drive is not relegated to "tree fornicators". In my opinion.

I see the Bolens, a 40 year old design, uses a SACHS 2 stroke, not what I would want to spend anytime behind. The genius of the this battery sled is it's extreme low center of gravity, and like any electric vehicle it should have tons of torque right from the get go. Fairly quiet also. Like any electric contrivance, my lawn mower for instance, when you are not using it just put it away. A year or so later plug it in and it works, every time! I have a cheap electric chain saw, used that way, and I love it. I am looking at an electric zero turn radius riding lawn mower for this next year for just these reasons.

This tracked thing would be handy to have in a corner of the hangar, for use as a ski plane retriever, I see no price but I'm guessing 4 to 8 K?? It's unique enough that some of it's uses are probably yet to be discovered, it would be fun to pull out when some Segway weenie rides by.

I agree on all counts except battery life. I try my best to take care of my stuff when I put it away, like draining carbs, adding stabil, etc. It usually works out pretty good when I pull my stuff out of storage.

Nothing gets me hotter than a battery operated doodad (my cordless drill, for example) when the battery life goes to empty 5-10 minutes after a full charge.
