Emergencies training

I am not an instructor, this are some of the emergency training I do on my own, recommend pilots to do your own emergency training ,and keep practicing, respecting your own minimums, it makes you a safer more proficient pilot, and it is fun.
I have the feeling backcountry pilots tend to train and experiment more than most pilots, which is good.

Re: Emergencies training

Very good video Larry. It is easy, in first canyon turn, to see that the target is the stream at the bottom of the canyon. In the second canyon turn, it is easy to see how snow can be a bit confusing. Down drainage is the way out regardless.

The engine failure on takeoff with enough altitude to turn back is the same energy management turn as the canyon turn. What is hard to get across from the safety of both turns is that all non instrument turns can be done that very safe way. It doesn't have to be the very steep turn required for a 180. Any turn is safe if we just allow the nose to go down naturally.
