Fishing vessel aground (heli video)
It takes strength and fortitude to beat the air into submission.
Luckily it appears to be grounded on a sand shore. No leaks or major damage. Waiting for a high tide and a tow back to the ocean?

Flying 208 amphibs I used to monitor VHF 16 on our panel mount marine radios
In one year alone think we relayed for 2 or 3 vessels who couldn’t establish communications that had engine issues to towboat USA / USCG
And did one look and sees for a USCG report of people in destress that was more or less along our route of flight anyways
In all my thousands of hours flying all I get monitoring 21.5 is “meow”

All my aircraft in Hawaii had Form 337 installs for marine VHF, audio and antenna. Logged over 400 PIC hours of USCG SAR in Hawaiian waters and have a lot of local knowledge pertaining to the weather and terrain on Hawaii which the USCG really appreciated.
In the winter, for example, the “Kona” winds would error out the parallel search patterns. Many micro climates to understand. The SAR software needed major upgrades. We almost lost a guy because the pattern was 25 NM away from target. Luckily a Marine jet landing at Kaneohe Marine Corp Air Station saw him. That is pure luck!
The helo pilots loved to fly with me because I would sign them off for fixed wing multi engine time towards their application to the airlines. Also, I received a call from the 3 star admiral (Pacific CINC) personally thanking me for flying medicine to a family on the big island! I’ll never forget that!

That looks more like the jetty at Yaquina Bay than any Hawaiian jetty I've seen. In the old days I fed wolf eels with sea urchins along the Yaquina jetty while scuba diving there. Now I'm old enough that the water is too cold and I can't squeeze into my wetsuit any more. Thank goodness I can still fly...

Did I say the video was from Hawaii? The vessel aground is on South Beach, Oregon. The river jetties are Yaquina.
Thanks for watching!

I was just looking at the location tag with your Avatar. Nothing else indicated a location. I hope they got it off at high tide.

My fault, sorry! Next video(s) will have better clarity. Thank you for watching and the critique regarding “location”.
My last report was (3) days ago. Still aground. “FV June” if you google for more info…

Seems someone was just a bit off on the exact location of the jetty…
