Garmin 796/XM music

I'v got the G796 in my plane. Gettin ready for my ID trip and wanted some music. I haev the Aviator lite package and called Sirius to activate the music. Appears to be activated as I can see a long list of channels, and can see songs change on the channel selected. Now, I know my hearing is gettin pretty bad, but I'm not hearin anything with volumes all the way up. Is there a setting in my GPS that I need to activate so I am getting the music through my light speed headsets?
Thanks
Gary

I didn't have to a change any settings on my 796 Gary. Stupid question, but you have it wired to the intercom? Do you have a vre qure mount or just the cig plugin with an audio wire running between?

Another question: do you have the required GXM42 antenna, to pick up Sirius and XM weather?

If he can see a channel list he has to have the antenna. Otherwise it says no data or something like that.

Hey David You went immediately above my pay grade wit the mount question. My the GPS is mounted to the back side of my panel, and hard wired in. No cig lighter sort of set up.When I power up, hit the music button towards the bottom, then hit volume after hitting the 3 horizontal bars I have a couple options. On has to do with Keytone on/off and the other is Audio mde/headset. Didn't know if they made any difference, but don't seem to when I switch them.

Sounds like it's the bare wire then. If you have terrain and other audio coming in, the music should work. If you go into setting and then sounds/volumes it allows you to change all the different sound volumes separately. Or maybe you were in that screen already?

To get my XM / 796 combo to play properly, I have to do everything mentioned so far and also select the music input on my intercom / audio panel.
