Yes, but keep in mind you can buy the Garmin now and install it in a massive range of aircraft, including those over 6,000lb. Once installed it will work, and it will work well. If there is a fault, you'll have exceptionally good customer service and support with little downtime. There will be a steady stream of software updates and additional features. And importantly, to me, in 5+ years time when the warranty has long expired, it will still have a flat rate repair option at probably less than $2k to swap out with an overhauled unit

No doubt it's not the cheapest unit out there, but what a feature set. The ability to drive a legacy autopilot will be a big selling point

As others have mentioned, the target market will jump on these very quickly. I'm placing orders for stock units now

You can also buy an Aspen E5 now at half the price with an increased feature set. Epic fail by garmin and my motto remains 'never garmin'

I've used Garmin products in the past; no real issues however I prefer "flexibility", Garmin is a bit to proprietary for my liking
