It doesn't. All CMOS sensors (which is all action cams) have this problem.
Here's one work around:

Is this the same type of filter that Sporty's is selling for less money or does the sporty's filter have anything better?

No. The sporty's one is a neutral density filter. This is a polarized filter. They are different, but *might* achieve the same goal in this case.

This is polarizer only:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-KPuaaZlDEBut your mileage may vary with different polarizers, some may be more stopped down than others.
I experimented with adding a neutral density filter in addition to the polarizer, and it became sensitive to vibration blurring, meaning the scan rate was too slow to capture good sharp definition if the engine was at a more vibrational RPM.

How was the color? Did you have to correct? I'm helping a new friend from the Lone Star fly-in and his video is so muddy that it's basically useless. There simply wasn't enough data left to do a good color correction, it was all compression artifacts.

Nice video. Like the perspective. Is that electric trim on the top of the stick?

Have a Hero 3 Black edition.
Use it mounted inside on a frame tube and outside on strut.
Use both hand-held remote and iPhone and iPad for remote activation. Find that the hand-held remote allows longer camera battery life. Getting about 1hr 15min video time.
The filter is a must and you can contact the guys @ nFlightCam for mounting options and hardware
which are simple and usable in multiple places.
GoPro customer service was excellent about helping with set up of camera and instruction on using App for iPhone and iPad. Reminder: Camera will not charge from your computer...even though the light is on. GoPro suggests to only use "small block" or 1amp charging. (Using "big block" charger, for iPads, can significantly affect battery in the long run...)
