Had an 800 acre island to myself, made chicken kabobs

North Fox Island is a gem of a strip managed by the RAF. By going there during the week, I had the entire place to myself for a few days of camping and cooking. After making a last minute run to Beaver Island to get some forgotten chicken, made some chicken kabobs.

Thanks for sharing Rich.

Is there any hiking trails or anything on the island?

For sure. The north side of the island, where the ridge I mentioned is, is mostly raw forest, but the south side has hiking trails. One that does a big loop around the south side and another that goes to the top of the hill I mentioned, where you will find a picnic table if you want to bring a meal.

Gotta eat the dog fast before it freezes! Will put the skis on in about a month once the ice is safe.

Re: Had an 800 acre island to myself, made chicken kabobs

Not many folks in the lower 48 that use a plane to do their grocery shopping. How much weight are you gaining from making these videos? That was a bunch of kabobs on the grill for one pilot. At least you weren't making dessert too! My airplane cookouts have tended to be much more plebian. This is freeze dried biscuits and gravy for breakfast with a kid's box of apple juice. I did make a latte with my AeroPress coffee maker, but that's not a luxury, it is an essential survival staple.

Yeah, I put the leftovers in a ziplock and reheated them for 3-4 meals. :-)

Yeah, -3 in your weird American system. -20 in the system used by those of us who live in civilized countries.
