Heads up for annual Reed Memorial Day fly-in

I just received an email from my friend and former "hangar landlord" Russ Reed about the 4th annual Memorial Day fly-in at his rural airstrip, where I kept my LRB for a year. Here are some details:

It's 1CD1 on the Cheyenne sectional, located roughly halfway between Wellington and Nunn, CO. It's a 2800' long strip, grass and gravel, 12/30, pretty smooth, at 5350' elev. If the day warms up, density altitude can become an issue, so best not to be too heavy. There are power lines on the west end. Typically, wind permitting, landings are to the west, take-offs to the east. Early in the year, it's not really easy to see the strip, because it hasn't greened up--tends to blend in with the other natural grass in the area.

The fly-in last year began around 7:30. We were delayed and arrived around 10, but the griddle was still hot. We did flour-bombing, and of course, every landing was "judged". Every year it has been fun, a real old fashioned fly-in breakfast, with lots of camaraderie. Hard to beat.

RSVP is not necessary, but if you want to be on Russ's "list" for information as the date grows near, PM me and I'll give you his email address, so you can let him know directly.
