Headsets again...actually replacement cups

Has anyone found replacement ear cups for the Lightspeed Zulu's? I'm thinking more along the lines of the gel type or a longer lasting one than the factory made ones. My new glasses also have bigger/thicker bows which cause a little more noise to escape into the earcup.

I have two Zulu headsets and one has rarely been used (spare for passenger), as in maybe a couple of times use. Offered a couple of young guys a flight later this week and when I took it out of the case, the ear cups are falling apart! The seams have split and one of the cups is disintegrating. :(

Looking at the various pilot supply places, I only find the Lightspeed brand. There are others, but none say they will fit the LS.

Lightspeed is the only source of Zulu ear seals that I know of.

If you think your ear seals gave up earlier than they should have try giving Lightspeed a call with your thoughts, they’ve always been very responsive to me.

Re: Headsets again...actually replacement cups

I have thousands of hours on zulus, it’s just a wear and tear item, also less nasty compared to the DC gels when they start to go bad.

Just call up LS think most times they send me a full set of pads for free, if you have to buy them (muffs and top pad) it’s not much money.

Just a sacrificial part IMO

Looks like Oregon aero makes a kit, I got no experience with it, but if you want to try something different

Thanks guys! I'll take a look at the one's from Oregon Aero when I get to Oshkosh. Otherwise I guess Lightspeed will get more of my money. ;)

I have Oregon Aero earcups & headbands on my David Clarks and my older Bose and they are a big improvement. No experience with Lightspeed. As you say, check them out at Osh. I suspect you'll like them.
