So, it's been a long wait, but were expecting our new german shorthair puppy to be born this week! We still haven't narrowed down the names so I'm hoping some of you guys have some new ideas. Mother nature allowing, we will be getting a femal and we're trying hard to stick with an aviation related name. Help us out!

Gremlin (yes, they really do exist, and after seeing the havoc they wreak I'm convinced they're female!)

A few years back, one of our neighbors had a Houdini chicken that kept getting out of the coop and coming over to our place to hang out with the horses (strange bird). It was pretty young when it started, just a few months before I went to training on a new airplane. My wife and daughter named it "Beth". The neighbor said it was fine if it wanted to hang out with us - just keep it.

I get back from training after being gone a month and took one look at "Beth" while we were all cleaning stalls and told my girls, "That's no hen! Beth is a BEN!!"



They called him Beth until the day he died! Hehehe - I always imagined him introducing himself to other birds in this deep bass chicken voice, "Hi, I'm Beth!"

My wife had a peach face parrot named patrick and a budgie called noel, both of which turned out to be girls, but they both kept there names. Noel used to attack our cats and patrick used to ride the doves around the aviry like her own private bus service. We also had 2 hens called ken and charlie...... but they where named that knowing they where hens

As a kid I had a female char-pei named Hank.

The guy we got her from named her that because "she looked like a hank of hair."

The name should be German, they respond better that way (mine is called Greta ), anyway the name should also be related to flying and the natural hunting instincts of the dog; therefore I will suggest: "Galland", German ace, and good guy overall, so it would represent the spirit of the hunt yet retain his heritage. It is all there, aviation, noble German name, and spirit of the hunt!

Female shorthair name, no brainier as it has to represent aviation and German heritage, I propose: "Earhart", German descent, and great aviatrix!
