I forgot, there was another lady flyer named Katie Stinson, Katie is a short easy to say name that "yells" easy.

My three labs have been named Propeller, Flap, & Radar. Propeller loved to fly and be at the airport. Go ahead and plagiarize if necessary, all for a good dog!

I like Veegee, for Vortex Generators, or Deegee for directional gyro.
Avia also rolls of the tongue nicely
That said, the previous recommendations that connect to the pointer breed like compass seem like a great bet.

Task of naming a new dog should not be taken lightly, as mentioned, should be simple, one syllable, something you can yell in public (like at a park) without sounding like an idiot, should not rhyme with basic
commands ( "Bo" or "Fletch")....original, endearing.......
I think "Maule" would be perfect!

How about Betty? Two great aerobatic pilots, Betty Skelton and Betty Stewart. Or perhaps Patty, for Patty Wagstaff. Here's a list of women aviators, some of whom have pretty good pup-dog names:

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Luke (skywalker)- One of the best pilots of his time.
Hans (Solo)- Another phenomenal pilot of his day.
And if it's a girl:
Ana (short for Anakin Skywalker (who was actually a boy))- Hands down the best and youngest pilot to ever come from Tatooine.

Gump, I'll bet you'd call it "Boob" for short.
