Instead of cluttering up the original thread, possibly we can entice more people to join in if they see the routes, times, and airships involved.
I believe Alex and I are a strong, definite, "maybe".
We are doing our best to convince the other we can pull the trip off. We are located just north of Denver CO and are flying J3(like) Cubs on 26s. We fly low, slow, and would need to stop often to fill a stock J3 fuel tank. Original post from original thread:
We are looking at a route with 100-110mile legs because one of us is a J3 with stock fuel tank. We both carry fuel bladders so quick-stop-fuel-ups are all the real J3 needs. Probably start north up to KSAA to avoid the big rocks then possibly towards the southern side of Salt Lake City rather than skirting southern WY. Or, we may be able to go directly over the big rocks and save some time depending on the winds. We are open to anything really, but distances between stops is our biggest hurdle. Maybe something like this:

Could also go the Rawlins->Rock Springs etc route but the leg on the west side of Salt Lake coming in from the north may be too long for the stock tanks of a J3.
More for the Salt Lake Area:
If you're burning Mogas, consider stopping in Utah at West Desert Airpark and Delle Utah. http://www.rmkplanes.com/about.html. Delle is just a truck stop on I-80 west of Touelle. There is an uncharted strip there as well.
I can get you mogas in Salt Lake at U42 as well. I have a truck for my own use there.
Della is in great shape. Tested pump 1 yesterday, it doesn't have ethanol in it.
I happened to drive by Delle last weekend and it looks great. There was a blue and white Supercub on 35s (?) sitting in the parking lot right next to a semi. That brought a smile to my face.
Anyways, those of you who contacted me privately and are coming from east of Denver (or wanting to tag along west of Denver), speak up!
Possibly leave Denver Wednesday(ish) and possibly follow something like this:
