Re: How many Orignations do you belong too ?

Hi guys,

New to this group, but not new to aviation after twenty-three years, I'll put in my list. I fly a Piper Cherokee PA-28/140/160 (ten extra horsepower for the same money in my 2009 engine exchange), so I don't build airplanes. The Cherokee isn't a bush or back-country airplane, isn't a great cross-country airplane, isn't anything really great, but it does all these things well enough to be satisfying and I've had it since 1988.

AOPA - good magazine and lobbying for general aviation
EAA - sort-of merging with AOPA, good social "network"
Arizona Pilots Association - trying to get Tuweep (L50) back open
Utah Back-Country Pilots - how I found this list
Piper Owners Asssocation
Cherokee Owners - they may have merged with POA
Southwest Pilots e-mail group
Phoenix Pilots Group - e-mail and several fly-ins a month
Scottsdale Breakfast Club - "plane" people fly and eat once a month

I probably belong to some other groups here and there where I'm not active these days.

Welcome to the group.

As our bylaws read since you don't have an"official" back country plane you will be required to pay the investigators that are being sent out to your house to qualify you to join us. Please have 3,400.00 cash and your pilots license, birth certificate, mothers maiden name, first born child and the serial number of left disc brake caliper of the plane you are currently flying available so we can process your application.. If someone named Zane tries to contact you be aware this " imposter" has been trying to shake down several of our previous new applications for his personal gain. If he does, call 1-800 groundloop as soon as possible so we can apprehend him in the act. :D

It's actually only $2,999 for annual dues. Please check your facts prior to posting. :P

Re: How many Orignations do you belong too ?

When local pilots and myself asked AOPA to help us with a runway closing issue and they dropped the ball, lost the paperwork and showed a lack of interest in helping us with what we felt was a big deal, I dropped my membership. I wont be back...
