I'm in Minnesota...again.

At Long Lake, which is a few miles from Sky Harbor. Not much planned if anyone wants to meet up. I might head over to Sky Harbor tomorrow to bum around and shoot some vids/photos.

Email me [email protected]

Pretty rough...except mosquitoes love my flesh.

Main thing missing here is a plane.

Lower temperatures and lower humidity in the PNW, than in MN. I'm staying where conditions are better. Your on your own dude. If be happy to drop by when you return to God's country.

They're at Tower now? Not Surfside anymore?

Woke up around 1am to answer the call of nature and was treated to this night sky. Just packing my little point and shoot. I think it does ok.

Correct. Pretty nice place with a really nice ramp into the lake from the hangars on the field. Asphalt all the way. I didn't do it but Soudan is close with iron ore museum stuff. I bet if you go up there you could find someone to give you a ride.

Interesting... I know Brian and have flown with him in the 185 in the past. He used to post here occasionally. Good outfit.

Zane,
How long are you going to be in the area? I have family arriving this week but maybe I can try and fly over if I can get a day away from the family drama!

Eveleth Sky Harbor or Duluth Sky Harbor? I get home Tuesday if you are still around northern MN. Carbon Cub on 29s or PA12 on EDO2000s.

Re: I'm in Minnesota...again.

Wow, a nice real midwest thunderstorm passed over us last night. Where I grew up in Oregon we got serious summer thunderstorms that made you wonder if the world was ending, but Portland is weak sauce for TS. Minnesota represents.

Keith, we're headed home on the 5th.

I'm 5 minutes from Eveleth Sky Harbor or Eveleth Airport. Or, we have a lake right here, Long Lake.

Zane,
Sent you an email yesterday with my PH number. I lost your contact info when my phone went TU several months ago.
Was hoping to make it up there today or maybe tomorrow for a meet and greet at the very least. Weather might be not the best for Wednesday.

Re: I'm in Minnesota...again.

Keith....emailed you back.

Spent the day in Voyageurs National Park yesterday, piloted a rental pontoon boat out to Kettle Falls hotel. What a beautiful area! The flies, however, can go to hell. It was like...apocalyptic level of flies. A few drew blood on my little girl's head. From a distance I must have looked like a madman, swinging at the air consistently. Having a big fat deer fly INSIDE your sunglasses is a really disturbing experience.

Headed up to Tower then on to Ely today, then just chilling in Fayal Township at Long Lake for the Fourth tomorrow. If you want to go flying and say hi, land here in front of the house.

A cop is giving a guy a ticket, and keeps swatting at flies that are getting after him.
"Those are horse flies, officer-- the kind that buzz around a horse's ass" the guy says.
"Boy, you calling me a horse's ass?" the cop says.
The guy replies "wouldn't think of it, officer, but it's hard to fool them damn flies!".
