I'm launching for Alaska in a Cub tomorrow

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Rocket, no Valdez for me this year unfortunately. I'm back at work, paying for Bearhawk parts. Would have liked to have met you. Perhaps later in the year.

Thank you Zane for sharing your truly awesome adventure with us.

Alaska is truly magical, and I am sure your report will inspire many to make the trip.

Really amazing experience getting to follow along with you on your trip, Zane! I have a handful of friends that have made the trek, on bushwheels and on floats, and now I have access to both. I think I'll have to do it twice, just to make sure I get the full experience! Can't wait to see more...

The last batches of photos are posted with their captions a page back, but here is the entire photo album from the trip, sans captions or story. There are 2 pages of pics so when you get to the bottom of the thumbs, click the Next link. Or just scroll through them in the viewer. It takes a few sections to load because it pre-loads all the images to the tune of a few megabytes.

Complete trip report and videos should be along in a few weeks.

Thank 'em you SO much! Very enjoyable. I've driven the Alaska Highway several times, but never flown it. I'd really like to fly it, if I don't get too old too quick. I keep buying the sticker for my airplane, but it seems like life keeps getting in the way. Planning to retire this year, so maybe next year.

BUMP 2024.

I somehow got internally linked to this thread and WOW...what a crazy walk down memory lane. Not only to relive this trip, but to be reminded what an amazing active community BCP used to be. Sure, this is my trip report but having everyone along and commenting really added to my experience. It's something I'll never forget.

I guess I'll bump this in hopes that others are inspired to do the old school trip report thing. It's definitely a part of BCP that I remember most fondly, before social media kinda eclipsed this kind of sharing on forums.

As for the trip to AK...I did end up cutting one video episode of the trip, but no subsequent ones. Sore subject for both me and CC.

This video was made 10 years ago! Crazy.

Later in 2020ish I made a music video of flying down the Prophet River as an excuse to make music for it.

There's always this year Z ! I might have an empty seat in mid August...either way I'll try to post a "Trip Log" on my (hopefully) annual trip from Colorado to SE Alaska...

I'm making the trip in May, right around the 15th. KSMN up to AK06. I'm not much of one for video, but maybe I'll jot down some things and take some photos.

Do it! TBH, simple photo and accompanying travelogue are the best anyway.
