Thanks Brad for all the great photos! One of these winters I am going to have to stay around so I can make it to these fly ins. Heck, I'm in AZ and woke up to snow yesterday! Could have stayed in MN if I wanted to see snow.

Re: Jackson Skiplane Fly-in 2023

I flew down to this with my neighbor Ross in his 185. I avoid fly-ins anymore but I was feeling starved for some socializing. It was a really neat fly-in and almost 100% taildraggers as there was no ice runway, just snowmobile-packed snow.

The coyote pelt seems to be the preferred material for prop covers up here.

Ross's sweet 185 and our ride in. His freshly refurbished Airglas worked great until we found some cream cheese warm snow later in the day.

Really fell in love with this Luscombe 8A. The owner had a matching color jacket.

I think this is a good use for double/jury struts. Any other Rat Trap skiers here?
Image

Was drooling over this gorgeous Beaver when it occurred to me that I know the owner. He's the guy flying the white/red Husky in "7 Days on the Range." I hope to see him again this summer 8)

A very nice Wagon.

Our old photographer friend Leonardo Correa Luna, now a Minnesotan too. Who else is moving here?

This was a really neat PA-12 that had some kind of Alaskan STC for that reshaped tail.

Our friend Greg's fresh EX3 build.

Nice pics and narrative Zane. WWHunter we woke up to the same thing yesterday. What is Sierra Vista coming to. Reach out if you have the time and want to meet up somewhere.

Oh yeah, unfortunately like the flying, surgeries have temporarily shut it down.
