Maybe I'm late to the party, but I didn't know about these until reading about them on an ebike site. Scroll down and check the pictures out of how their customers use them! Anytime we get up off the couch, go outside, and DO things, we need to tie stuff down. Like most, I am always on the lookout for ways to do it quicker and better. Especially in how I secure the e Montague bike in my plane, but actually in about every aspect of my life (once off that couch) I am always tieing/securing something down. Not cheap (especially the XL ones) but that probably means they are worth it. Note: they are stretchable, that's what sold me, that and the fact you can daisy chain them together to create whatever length needed. I just spent 70+ bucks on a selection of them, and I haven't even left the house yet.

Whomever used to own this Cessna was a fan of them too...used for everything from skiing to flying to storage.

From skis to rifles, antler sheds to beer kegs, nothing is better for securing a load on the wing strut than Voile straps. Keep an assortment around and you'll find yourself using them for all sorts of tasks. They're unbelievably strong, even down in the -20° range. For an even beefier example, check out Titan Straps.

What a bunch of gear geeks we are, getting excited over some tie down straps! To me, what's exciting about them, is what they denote, what I'll be doing when I use them. Most people could care less, I'm glad to get some positive feedback here. For putting the bike away, something I do some times a half dozen times or so a day, I need a mix of some straps with a pre determined length, one that cinches up to the same length every time, for that I'll keep the 1 " webbing/plastic snap buckles quick releases I now use. If I don't secure the handle bars just right, it creates a clearance issue with my aileron cross over cables. The whole bike thing is something I want to do as fast as possible, but I need to always do it right. Once I get these and integrate them into my "system", I need to do another timed test, from rolling up and shut down, to riding off, sub 3 minute times are what I am used to. Kind of like the pit crews at Nascar races, and it amuses the hell out of onlookers when they watch the flurry of activity that results in me having transport after landing. The practicality and fun of having my own e bike wheels after landing where ever has been a game changer for me, right up there with getting big tires.

Here ya go: They are made of out some kind of rubbery plastic, not either, but a mix of the two, sort of. I can't really think of any other material to compare to, it's pretty unique whatever the hell it is. They work great in cold weather they say also, don't get brittle anyway, and are also very UV resistant. They have just the right amount of stretch, nothing like a bungee cord, but enough. This first use of them was to quickly secure a rolled up sling on the tractor's scraper blade, and as I already had put them down in the hangar, so as long as I had to run down there I grabbed two, being unsure of the length required. Sure enough, one was too short, but now their capability of quickly being able to daisy chain them came into play, joining the two together took just a second and even after a couple hours of rough tractor work, the sling hasn't budged. That feature of being able to quickly join them together is what I really like, giving limitless applications for their use.

I have yet to use them in the airplane, today's local 5 day WX forecast was, I kid you not: WINDY,WINDY, GUSTY, STORMY, WINDY!

PSA: I want to give credit to the folks at Titan Straps. I ordered some to give as Christmas gifts (ok, a couple for myself too) and when I received the box, 4 straps were missing. I immediately took a picture of the open box with the contents along with the shipping receipt showing what should have been in there and emailed it to them.

Within two hours they had packed the missing straps in another box, included an extra strap for my trouble, and shipped it. They emailed me an apology along with the tracking number and I had the replacements in two days.

I haven't yet used the straps so I can't give a pirep on them, but they sure look like they will do the job.

The service from Titan Straps was excellent. I don't think any of us mind the occasional mistake as long as the company makes it right.

These folks made it right and they dropped whatever they were doing to get my straps to me asap.
