Regardless of whether he makes another movie or not, the member wanted to thank him for all he has done for the BCP community (in his own wacky way  ) and hopes it takes some of the sting out of getting robbed.

I think this gesture really shows what a cool community we have here. So coming at you Greg is a new Hero3+ Black w/ remote, two housings, card, and extended battery Bacpac.

Hey Bigrenna,

I recognize that ball mount under your pic...

So I don't know the user swingle, but to keep the pay it forward theme if he flys an aircraft that I make a mount for then I would like to send a mount his way. I just need to know what aircraft he has and how to get in touch with him.

Best regards,

Marc

Good deal Marc! I'm sure he would dig it!

If you dont know what Marc is talking about, he builds a kick ass quick-removable strut camera mount I shot these pics after I got my mount. Super cool and really affordable...

Hey Greg,

Thanks for the plug I appreciate it but for me its more about helping another member out. You did me a great favor by taking the photos of my product that are far better than any I could have done myself. A fellow member reaching out to help another and I really like that about this group. I am just glad I can return the favor and pay it forward a bit. Kudos to the person who started this by buying the camera for Greg in the first place.

Re: Keeping Swingle in the Fight

Hey! This web site is supposed to be about Zane flapping his wings to Alaska right now, not a Jerry Lewis Telethon on how to be me a new computer!

Besides EZ and the boys are like "shut up you dumbasses, he's gone!"

Really, it means a lot to me that you want to keep me in the fight. I swear I didn't cry when I got the mail last Friday. I did hold a secret, silent press conference by the silo though, because it felt like it needed a ceremony of sorts.
Image

I don't have a real plan but I've been brainstorming how I can make my wacky endeavors sustainable. As you know, it ain't easy--heck even non ass-clowns just trying to do a pipeline job or instruct some youngsters barely squeak by in this industry--at least around here. It's funny because a couple locals were preaching to me how i need to make money on this stuff--that it's irresponsible to just run myself dry when I could make something of it. Then my equipment all broke/got ripped and I was like, yeah, screw this. I gotta get my shit together. I'm selling some misc parts and hope to rally funds. Swango Unchained tailwheel--SOLD! Backcountry backpacks I didn't need--SOLD! Everything is $19.95, no money down. I might even have a Rotax boat motor to sell shortly.

But I don't feel right passing hats and stuff like that. I don't do well with charity and obligations. -Makes me feel like Tiny Tim. There are plenty of people in the world who never got to make one single flying video while grubbing down a pizza and circling around a thermal on the way to Alaska, and I pity those poor people. Give them your money. I'll figure it out and you guys will be the first to know when I do...or I won't and I'll do something else, but don't worry about me. I'll be just fine.

Lots of love from the Buckeye State!

Damn, I don't know anybody who has their own podium for press conferences. You're obviously destined for greatness!

A bunch of us are pulling for you, Greg, no matter what you decide to do. I also count myself among those who have had some faith in humanity restored by what a great crew of people we get to hang out with in this wonderfully dysfunctional little virtual community.

You're bad a$$ Greg! I totally laughed out loud at that! You live a unique and poetic life.

I have some friends that are missionaries in Nicaragua. They tell a story about when they collected a bunch of shoes for the families living in the city landfill. They came back a day after giving them the shoes and they were all barefoot again! They realized then that the best way to help those families was to teach them the importance of wearing shoes in a place filled with spent drug syringes and other life threatening hazards laying all around from which several people died every year (mostly the children). They did a similar thing in some of the remote and starving villages. Instead of just bringing them food they brought them seeds and educated and motivated them on the importance of learning how to grow their own food and therefore become self sustainable.

The point is that it's better to support the missionary rather then throwing dollar bills into the landfill. Sometimes just giving charity to the "poor" only teaches them to be poor. In other words, I'd rather support you because you have a proven unique ability to help, motivate and entertain so many of us poor sorry suckers which in return causes us to be better people and in the end more "poor" people are helped! Just look at what happened to Evan! He's badly infected by the bug! 8)

And besides, if you really don't want the free stuff you can just put them in the backpacks your selling and make a little more cash off it! 8)

Isn't that the truth.

Greg - a friend went around the world on a motorcycle and wanted to write a book about it, but didn't have the funds to do it right. He put it up on Kickstarter and raised a few thousand dollars. Mainly because friends (and some strangers) that know him wanted to help him and wanted to see the final result. (The book is "Forks").

Perhaps you can think of a larger project that we can all fund that showcases what you can do. Which is a lot - you have rare talent no doubt about that. Maybe you can use that project to seque into something.

I only know you from your videos, and I would gladly pay some money to see what you can do with a larger project.

Regards, Ney

Re: Keeping Swingle in the Fight

Now wait a minute. I like the idea of a greater-community investment in a valuable resource. I have never met the Swinglemeister in person but I absolutely love what he can come up with about the church of the taildragger and his madcap zany ways. I have been selfishly sharing his videos with all my airport buddies. Kickstarter sounds good. I don't care about charity. I don't care about sappy "I love you, man" tequila camaraderie. I care about a quality product presented by a like minded individual. Ohio has garnered a new place in my heart and I await Greg's next release with baited breath.
So Swingle, toss theTiny Tim thingy and hit me up. I will gladly support a professional who produces artful and humorous content that I can't get enough of. You have a marketable talent and great product that can stand on its own without handouts. Bah humbug! First Emmett Welch sells his S7 and now your interests are waning. It's not fair, man. You have a loyal following of aviation wackos. You're such a damned tease.

Greg
My 2 cents

Follow your heart. You may never be "Rich" in the terms of "money" you may never be" famous" in the terms of "Hollywood"..........some say You maybe just a 1/2 a bubble off  ....but so what......
You have been given a gift. You take the time to see things different than most. You have the ability to make people laugh, and laugh at themselves as well.......
I have enjoyed your videos and have shared them with my friends and family as well. You have touch many people.... =D>

I hope you continue to be just "you"....and remember you may never have lots of money but you are wealthy with talent, and many friends and acquaintances that enjoy what you do.

Thanks for sharing in the past......follow your heart, you will do well.

Re: Keeping Swingle in the Fight

I'd just let things be for the time being, I don't think he's going to go hungry or anything (picture a starving big eyed waif, in front of a fat tired airplane), and being comped for a bunch of stuff, well intended though it may be, may lend a "now I HAVE to make more videos" conundrum to the mix. Like Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, who just surprised everyone by announcing his return to competitive getting wet, Greg may return to the video world when and if the muse strikes him, ain't up to us. He's not getting squat from me anyway :D By now he has a good handle on how we all appreciate and enjoyed his past efforts.

If he can afford a podium, he can afford more vid gear when and if the desire strikes. He's got mogas and coffee anytime he makes it through Inkom anyway.
