KPAN to KONO Ideas? Utah Pilots?

Hey getting read to make a flight from Payson Arizona to Ontario Oregon w/ TCraft. Looks like we'll be via Utah up past Salt Lake city, though that area.

Anyway looking for decent fuel price and places to stop that would have a good cafe on the field along this route. Pretty much flying Interstate -15.

Shawn plans on doing it in a day. My butt hurts already :P

Yep I do have a facilities directory, but they don't tell how good the food is.

Thanks, Bub

I hear that Gooding, ID. has good price on avgas. $4,50. I don't think they have food though. Bob.

Ogden has two restraunts currently on the field. I like Auger Inn, I was there Saturday, but they seem to close after the lunch rush..+/-230pm. Think Mel's Diner when you see the waitresses

The other Restraunt is pricier but supposedly better and is located at the KempAir FBO.

Loaner cars are usually available in Logan (LGU) to hit the myriad of restraunts close by. It may be out of your way though.

Fuel is prolly the cheapest at the Nephi (U14) self serve pump, rumored to be @ $4.59 currently. Its right off I-15. I have friends that fly down there for the sole purpose of topping off.

Let us know when you'll be thru and I'll try to hook up for grub.

Ok we'll do. I think we'll leave KPAN at day break. So it depends on winds, I would expect us into you area. Using the swag method, between 10 am and noon? :?

PM me your cell and I'll give you a shout.

"Auger Inn" Geez I love it. :P

If auto gas is ok then Delle is hard to beat. that is a regular stop for me when flying from Weed, CA to SLC or Provo.

Besides Denio Junction, it is the only place I know of that you can taxi right up and get Mogas.

Caldwell, ID. is a good place to eat breakfast. They have the best ham steak breakfast that I have ever found. At a good price too. Bob

Hey me either? So I Google Earth it and guess what. It's out in the middle of BFU.  Actually a bit out of the way, so we'll probably not go there.

Cripes weather is forecasting rain for Saturday. :x Now we'll just have to see how it plays out.

It is about 60 nautical miles east of Wendover, UT on the south side of I-80. Gravel strip behind the gas station. Check out UBCP data base. http://www.utahbackcountrypilots.org/airport_search.asp

There's a Best Western at the south end of the runway in Blackfoot, ID with good food next to it. All walking distance. Fuel in wells NV. and Gooding ID. was the cheapest I found in the area. Blackfoot is a great launch area for ID backcountry. If you need any unscheduled maint in ID I highly recommend Lenny's Airmotive in Salmon ID. Fair, honest, excellent and will move passer through's to the front of the que if your nice. Have fun. We just got back from a week long camping trip and it was in the high twenties at night. Cold for AZ boys.

The only time I have landed in AZ is at Page and at Tuweep. Probably never get to go to Tuweep again. Enviro Nazi's are seeing to that.

This site is about helping other like minded folks and thier flying. Why keep this mogas spot a secret. Is there ethynol in the gas?

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Just havin some fun. Zane got it. The caverns are an old Route 66 roadside attraction that got bypassed by the main highway years ago. A fun stop even if you don't need mogas. A real trip back in time.
