ahhh can't make that one either, but for good reason. I'll be in Alaska getting married, meeting a fellow bush pilot, and hopefully getting some stick time at sea level, in something other than a 172.

Ummmmmm, let's be careful here, not to denigrate 172s. They may not have the pizzaz of a 180 with overgrown tires, they may not be as fast as a Bo or Mooney, and they can't carry the load of a 206, but they are very definitely great airplanes. As an owner of just such an airplane (63 P172D), I can say without fear of contradiction that it is indeed a great airplane.

ohh no. definitely not my intention. I have spent 95% of my flying time in a 172. Father owned one that he took me around to all sorts of shows oshkosh, sun n fun, etc. I loved that airplane and now I'm learning in one. but I do itch for a tailwheel. Soon enough i'm sure.
