Zzz, Not to worry, if it weren't for tradition, I would probably be headed for somewhere cooler this weekend too

Russ, it might get that cool  but the good news is there is a 10 acre stand of milo on my Texas Hill strip (just east of the tank farm)... shooting will be as hot as the temps  Are you a shooter?

Mike,
They look like this;

Oh... the early season goes till the 15th. The late season goes Nov.22nd thru the years end, but by then I rarely purposefully hunt dove. Reason being by then quail is open, and they take priority 8) I don't hesitate on the doves that do happen to show though

The dove cook off will be at Dusty's this year, with one guide bringing a group of 40+... Dove/Jalepenio poppers and smoked dove over wild rice... yum

Maybe do a shoot in-between my winter and spring produce seasons?

Take care, Rob

The rains are not far off here in the NW and I'm behind at work and at home.
We can maybe do a day trip depending on where everyone ends up.

Too bad we'll miss you unless you make it for a day.

Thanks Rob! The hunting would be an added plus to visiting you and Coleen that time of year. Tell us when and Rose and I will be glad to escape the cold here.

I was hoping for something else on the BBXXV front, but i'd just be in trouble for that anyway. The traditional deal looks fun too!

Cheers,
Mike

We'll try to stop by.
The Sand Dune Pub in Manzanita has good food.
The winds can get sqirrely once you get in the trees. There is good grass to land on if you are on bushwheels, North end on the West side. I guessing it might be close to 1000' long?
There is plenty of drift wood for fires, although earlier this year a ranger told us it is illegal to burn. ORS 390 says other wise.
Lots of good gravel bars if you want to play around McMinnville.

Over here and Sunriver Oregon with the wife and family. Headed up to our Madras place this evening then back to Troutdale tomorrow. At least I got to fly here. The wife is back to her full-time school teaching job Tuesday.
