I've heard that an airplane that looks just like mine has been spotted as an offender also. :oops:

Just be careful of some paved strips, when landing on the gravel before the asphalt starts. There may be lights there, NOT on the sides but right across the runway....I have one, remnants of one anyway, and it cost me 150 bucks to buy this souvenir. I guess some pilots night fly, like bats, and need them, sure surprised me, but then again I wasn't really looking. Done exactly the same many times before ( no lights) and will do so again but will keep an eye out on the transition. Salmon ID. is the offender BTW.

Also angling from the downwind corner to the big airplane touchdown zone marking in a strong crosswind, try to miss the runway end identifier light in the corner.

I've also seen some paved runways with built-up pavement, somewhat higher than the surrpunding terrain.
Unwittingly trying to roll over one of those "curbs" could have poor results.

That's where a well timed bounce comes in handy.
Touch down short in the gravel / grass and hop over the transition - at least the tires are turning when they come down on the asphalt.

Land on gravel, pitch up as in low ground effect takeoff, add some power, hover taxi over bad place, land. There were a few spray strips that actually worked that way. Speed was well under control throughout. Uncomfortable if you had to come back with a load.

"Land at your own risk" has always caused me to chuckle. What landing is not at my own risk?
