I haven't seen one up close, but when I was at Norco getting a tank of gas a couple of months ago I asked them, and they said they have been around a couple of years and are basically cheap junk from China. It's essentially a MIG welder with a laser instead of electric current, electric current works fine, why change. The other new laser use on the market is rust removers. You can get stuff from Temu for $100.00, or industrial stuff for $10,000.00 and up, nothing in between. The $10,000.00 stuff works very well by the way.

Yeah, I've been looking at these. The speed of the weld, and the penetration using the machine in this video are insanely impressive. There wasn't any info on the cost of this setup, but it looks like more than a hobby rig. The premier industrial hardware of today becomes the hobbyist gear of tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Being made in china is a bummer, but many “American made” products are made in china but tinkered with enough in the US to be able to legally claim made in the US
