Re: Last Flight as a Family of Four

Thanks 58. Rich has me sold on a 205. I really liked his when I flew it. Plus it is a bit more affordable. Now I just need some $$.

Blu, that's funny about your argument against more kids. The number of seats is also the argument I am using for a bigger plane! :D

Ernie, that pic of Caveman sure brought back some good memories. We will be there one way or another. I sure hope Rod got my pics for next year's shirt.

Cory,
Sure, the kids are cute and cuddly now.... My boys are both pushing 6'. Luckily, Emilee is following after her petite Mom. The 206 is getting too small now, we are looking for a belly pod!
Think long and hard of the 205 vs. 206. You will outgrow the 205.
Congrats to Dee and yourself. As I am posting Monday afternoon I hope that all has gone well.

Cory/Dee
Congrats. You two are some of the best parents I know. That youngster couldn't be born into a better family.
Keep up the good work/fun =D>

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

Just saw a listing on Barnstormers for a 205, willing to trade for a 182.......

Re: Last Flight as a Family of Four

Thanks kind words and wishes Tom and Gary. Luckily I have a bit of time to mull over the options. We may very well have to trade up down the road if we are able to do so. If the 182 were solely mine to trade, that sounds like a good prospect. But since it isn't, I'll have to keep saving my pennies and hopefully find a good one when I'm ready to buy.

Seems like you were in a club. Maybe cheaper to get the club to upgrade. :) 8) Maybe a nice turbo'd 206. Got a buddy just bought one of those. Sure a sweet ride. And turbine smooth.

Yeah, I am. I'm also the treasurer for it. I would be all for it. The problem we've had in the past though with larger, higher performance aircraft, is that the relative few members that would fly it doesn't offset the higher hourly cost or cost of insurance. Fewer people are also willing to either pay for an aircraft that costs more per hour to fly or the initial time to get checked out in it...and then later to stay current in it. I'd definitely rather be able to spread the costs around. One upside of having your own is that you know how it has been flown and can equip it the way you want for backcountry flying, which is the goal. Time will tell.

Start working on an experimental cub that the oldest of your children can learn to fly and bring along on family outings?
