We have had over 130" of snow in November, just three inches short of double the record!

I can't figure out how to load picture into this @#$%%^^$^#^!# thing but there are some in my gallery in the folder named snow.

Sometime I wish I lived in a warm climate.

Global Warming?

Your right Shane, the snow that deep one has to ask why? We don't get the snow like you do, but we do get the cold. I have to ask at times why am I still living here. Things is the summer makes it all worth it..

I figure living in North Pole is like being in an abusive relationship. Treats you bad for 9 months and sweet for 3 months. I keep coming back for more. I must be sick.

Snow is snow, but the moose picture is priceless.

It's warm in Haines. Compared to Fairbanks, or North Pole, or Coldfoot.

Shane, tried to ski up right from town this past week in Haines but it was too deep...one step forward with the skis and two back...even the skins didnt stick since it was so deep! above freezing here for the past 3 days and forecasting -8celsius Sunday..when it should be -30c... cant figure out this wx

Here in Germany we had the driest November since the beginning of records. Global Warming is (of course) blamed for that, too...

I sure hope the snow continues all season like that! More snow than we had all season last year already...

Will be in Juneau this week for a quick heli ski trip. You have blue bird coming your way on Tuesday. Any chance you know Drake or any of the guys from Out of Bounds or SEABA?

Just curious. Fly down to Juneau and I will by you dinner if your up to it this week.

Hoping to hit Eagle Crest this week...Look for the Tundra on the Apron

BCT- You know that Eaglecrest is closed all week. Only open on weekends. Should be good touring however!
We are based at the NorthStar hangers next to the tie down area. We have the blue heli's. Will look for you for certain. I arrive at noon on Monday. Departing Friday morning. Flying the PC 12 up. I hope to see you!

You guys are NOT making me jealous! We've had 3 significant snowfalls so far, a few inches each time, with plenty of truly warm weather in between. There's maybe 7" on the ground right now, from Thursday and Friday.

But you are bringing back some memories. The first Christmas in Anchorage, all of the snow that had fallen since September had evaporated/melted by December 24th, and I couldn't believe that our first Christmas in Alaska would be snowless. But about dinner time, it started to rain, and when we got up on Christmas morning, there was 18" on the level.

One of these days I'll get back up for a visit. Keep thinking about flying the Highway in my LRB--might just do it before I get too old--would be a fun adventure.

Don't feel bad Shane, i am NOT CIO but do know technology pretty well and i finally gave up on getting photo's into these posts!

Dont give up on photos...Its really easy actually...

1st Upload a photo
2nd-copy the image address
3rd- click the image link above here (it looks like Img)
4th-paste image that you have copied in-between the brackets that appear when you click Img (it helps to space the brackets out prior to pasting photo)
5th- click submit below
6th -view your topic again and look at your picture...Honestly its very easy (you do need a mouse to make this happen, otherwise its a bit harder to do)

AKT, yeah sure, I know Drake, most of the Seaba bunch and anybody doing tourism, I would like to meet you in Juneau but work all week and not much lite in the afternoons.

The worst thing about these pictures is that I have done it before, I get them all loaded up to embed and it says it can't determine the size of the file and won't let them go.

Yeah I like the moosie pics. I have a set of about 5 of that cow sneaking up on the camera getting closer and closer and closer, I guess trying to figure out what the thing is. We got pics of several moose, one bear and several ding-a-ling hunters. Some of them even posed on purpose.

Looks like a bit more warm and light rain then back into the snow again. We are almost cleaned up from the last dump and ready for more. It should be really great snow machine riding and skying with a solid base this deep. It will be hard on moose and good for wolves.

Off-piste sucked at Eaglecrest this Sunday.
Groomed was icy up high, but nice and fast lower down.
Pissing rain though - and we lost lots of snow in this warm spell.
Eaglecrest won't be open till Friday (skijuneau.com).
I'll be there this weekend - send me a PM if you want to ski.
