Update on the out of state aircraft use tax in Maine.

The aviation community has the attention of Maine legislators.Public hearings were scheduled for this thursday on legislation introduced to do away with aircraft taxes in the state The hearings were postponed I am told due to a sponsor not being able to be present.
AOPA reps met with them on the 17th .They may issue a statement on it.

I do know that pilots inundated the state offices with e-mails,calls and letters.
The Associated Press article generated a lot of pressure from citizens of Maine who were absolutely outraged that their government was taxing people like this.
