MAP Spikes >33 inHg After Installing MT-Propeller on T182T —

Hi everyone,

After upgrading my 2013 Cessna T182T (Lycoming TIO-540-AK1A) with an MT-Propeller (MTV-9-B/200-52), I started noticing something odd:
on throttle-up during takeoff , my manifold pressure spikes up to 32.9–33.7 inHg — something I never saw with the old propeller before.

Has anyone else seen MAP increases past 33.0 after switching to an MT prop?

Did I need to recalibrate or change my governor? ( governor is new )

Any engine wear issues with this MAP
Increase ?

Is this something MT has acknowledged?

Any reply will be greatly appreciated

Thank u
Best Regards,
Dan

Re: MAP Spikes >33 inHg After Installing MT-Propeller on T18

Is it spiking momentarily and then settling back to normal or staying high?

It may have a finer high pitch setting than the previous prop and it’s taking longer to respond if you’re advancing the throttle quickly.

Hello

Its staying high.

Honestly since I put this mt propeller I dont feel any difference in performance or noise and more my MAP is higher than normal

Anyone have this MT PROPELLER on a turbo? I might go back to old propeller

Thank you

I can't see how a different prop could affect MP on a turbo airplane in any way. I bet it is a coincidence.
