Hopefully Jeremy doesn't learn enough about computers to start charging or I'm afraid I'll be like Doug and owe him my first born.

Well, good to be here. I like this website.... Don't have any small wheels to fly anymore and got (distancewise but not by heart) somewhat detached from the Maule world. Out of desparation I will even have to rent a Citabria (no tailwheel Maules around in Hawaii)... but - there will be the day when I have my own airstrip in WA (or access to one) with another Maule on it .........
As for an updated Forum on http://www.Maulepilots.org, I have downloaded the software but it does look somewhat complicated to install and set-up. Maybe I can spare a day after my Europe trip next week and try to implement it. I like to see somewhere a central spot where technical Maule questions can be asked and answered and to have a free replacement for Johans chat room. Jeremy has come a long way from not looking at a computer to probably typing at 10 keys a minute now, but it would be much easier for him if he doesn't have to weed through different forum to give his input...
Thanks Doug, I will ask Zane whether he can link the maulepilots.org, especially if/after I manage to implement the bulletin software.

I recommend phpBB as the forum software. If you want I can install it for you. I just need the username/password for your web server and mysql database. Of course your web server has to be running PHP and MySQL. After that it's up to you to add the forums and organize it.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Thanks so much for the offer, Zane, which I will gladly accept
I will look into the requirements (PHP MySQL) with my host and email you the access after June 16th (I will be in Europe for 10days)

Even if there was a dedicated Maule technical forum here folks would still be askin' Jeremy questions on the other forums, and at least there's one less to have to check for the time being. I'm really not sure how this site could be a clearing house for other forums and reduce Jeremy's web browsing in any way though. I currently check four aviation web forums daily for new fun stuff to jump in the middle of, but it's mostly just a bad habit for me...oh, well, I guess it beats a drug habit.

Not a whole lot of Maule tech questions asked here so it's more a place Jeremy can just come to relax, shoot the bull, and talk flying. 8)

BTW, can I deduce from your username that you're also a glider pilot that flys a Libelle?

Doug,
well I was (an active gliderpilot). In Germany I used to own half share of a Std Libelle and the competition letters were E4 (this is at least a username I can remember)

I'm a inactive glider pilot as well (for the time being). A friend offered to let me fly his H301 years ago but I found it didn't fit me very well with the more streamlined canopy. I could barely get the canopy latched if I screwed my head on a turn or two tighter. :?

The Libelle is one of the prettiest sailplanes that ever came out of a design studio.
