Re: Memaloose conditions?

Had a friend who was up there 2 weeks ago in a truck as he has a ranch nearby. He said the snow is gone but the field was a bit soggy. Post a report if you land or fly by.

Best,
Jim

Re: Memaloose conditions?

There is a Recreational Aircraft Foundation breakfast Saturday am at Smiley Creek that I'll be at. Then later Saturday over to Thomas Creek (for the hot springs--short hike) or Johnson Creek to camp. Be great to meet more BCP'ers! Ted

Re: Memaloose conditions?

Flew over Memaloose on June 18th. The strip is snow free and the north end is very wet. South end looked ok with no ruts. Didn't land because of 100' ceiling but got a real up close look. Post a pirep if you land there. Awesome view and take the time to visit the fire tower

Yep, on one of his calm days.

His bird is a M7, big tires, red on white.

Re: Memaloose conditions?

If any of you want to hang out a few extra days I'm headed over Monday. Thinking about staying at Smiley. I plan to check out Memaloose on the way over too.

Re: Memaloose conditions?

Made it to Smiley Creek. Sorry we missed each other there. Headed into the backcountry after that Saturday. About an hour into that flight, with plans to end up at Johnson Creek, my passenger realized he still had another pilots rental car keys in his pocket! So we had to head back to Idaho Falls to return those. Oh well, next time...
