Moose in Nevada Sagebrush

A local television station, KOLO channel 8, says this guy is hanging around in Nevada. That's not a Mustang kids.

The wolves probably chased him out of Idaho

Re: Moose in Nevada Sagebrush

Those things do go on walkabout sometimes......I've seen them in the middle of North Dakota, after having made it most of the way through Montana.....a loooooong ways from moose habitat to the west.

But, I'm guessing there aren't any moose tags issued in Nevada....maybe he read the regs...

Re: Moose in Nevada Sagebrush

Was fishing on the Fraser River up by the Gang Ranch and saw this black object floating down the river. It turned out to be a cow moose just swimming along having a look around. She stepped out at a little beach on the opposite side, walked up the hill and started eating the sage bushes. She stayed there for three days then disappeared. I am thinking those may have been good tasting steaks down the road.

Great and bizarre picture. This would be perfect for a caption contest. My captions would be something like: "The bloody BLM must have paid Yelp a lot for this restaurant's high rating!"

Re: Moose in Nevada Sagebrush

That might be the same Moose that was hanging out near the Goldstrike Gold Mine north of Carlin (about 30-40 miles northwest of Elko).

Like Mike mentioned above about other moose. This one is about the sixth reported moose in northern NV that may have came as far away as northern Idaho.

Apparently there are more than 1 that has made the migration, so does the title need to be: "Meese in Nevada Sagebrush"

There are meese just east of Twin falls ID. and lots of them in the jellystone area. There are meese in Utah too. They can walk pretty darn fast given the right motivation so Nevada ain't out of reach. She better hide or Gump will be after her.

Did you hear about the moose who walked into the bar in northern Nevada. The bartender asked him "why the long face?".
