Man that thing looks like fun. Looking forward to your videos sans music, we wanna hear airplane sounds. Plus I think many of us would like to hear what the numbers are when you get around crunching them . cruise, approach, stall, flap, fuel burn, climb..... yada yada.

Re: My new weird plane- Slats

well i did a little video. some dude asked why i didn't film any hydro planing... all i can say is that every man has his limitations.

notice how while filming my fuel tank cover lets loose...

Nice airplane. Loved the video and good choice of music, particularly the first song. =D>

Re: My new weird plane- Slats

They should make it mandatory that everyone own one of these. That engine looks easy to get at. I'll change your oil for you sometime.

Thats a great video! You need more of the girl at the beggining in it! :D ...of course I am partial to your choice of music as well. =D>

Curious what your airspeed is at the 3:50 mark? Looks slow and fun. Where is this plane located? Would be cool to see some gages in your next video on approaches and such. Really nice work!

Re: My new weird plane- Slats

thanks guys

i am trying to throw a raw vid together of other landing sites and will do some gauge shots. i will lose the music then you can hear the motor. sounds like a ford tractor. i need a new prop. it only cruises around 80 mph indicated. i think Catto can get me a bit more speed. i still havent taken the spinner off to see what my length and pitch is though.

the tires are 26"

windywyomingman- it doesnt need oil changes because it leaks oil so bad, all i do is keep adding :-) benefits of an inverted engine. ha jk

Great video! That engine cowling looks awesome. Lots of visibility (once airborne). Have you ever been able to touch tailwheel first? Are the slats auto-deploying or fixed?

Re: My new weird plane- Slats

Is that one of Steve Newsbombs planes he was building?
He was making them in a kit a few years back. Called the John Doe.
Just asking is all. I grew up with him.
