Mygoflight Armorglas screen protector PIREP

After reading Dave Hirschman's complimentary report on Mygoflight's Armorglas screen protectors for iPads in the latest AOPA Pilot magazine, I did some Google looking at similar products and then visited the local Best Buy to look at similar products. Although the prices are similar, I could not find any which offered an anti-glare version other than Mygoflight. I first emailed Mygoflight to inquire about the thickness of the Armorglas, concerned about how well it would work with the Logitech keyboard cover I have for the Mini and the iPro Navigator yoke mount I have in the airplane. I had a response the next day, assuring me that both would work fine. I ordered one for my iPad Mini and my iPhone 5s Friday, and they came yesterday--talk about fast service!

Installation was pretty easy, but in spite of my efforts, a speck of dust remained on the screen of the 5s, fortunately at the edge so it's not annoying. I also accidentally touched the sticky side of the Mini's near the home button hole, so that shows. But otherwise, they're virtually invisible. I haven't had a chance to use either in the airplane yet, but the absence of sun glare when I used both of them outside was impressive.

Both also come with stick-on buttons to place on the home button, ostensibly because the Armorglas is thicker than a plastic screen protector, but I chose to omit those--not necessary at all, as the Armorglas is very thin, making the home buttons just as accessible as they were with the plastic film screen protectors. The touch screens also seem just as sensitive as with the plastic screen protectors.

I also bought their wax cleaner, which not only works well on the screen protectors, but also on my glasses. My glasses haven't been so clean since I bought them at the ophthalmologist several years ago!

Once I fly with them, I'll update this, but initially I'm pretty impressed, both with the product and the incredibly fast service.
