Your right: I won't run them enough on the pavement to hurt them. They come off after JC and back to 29s If I like bureaucracy and paper work I would try to get the grass opened.

Got talk to the controllers or admin. There's nothing illegal about it. Take them some cupcakes and asked nicely, and take a signed "at my own risk" waiver.

Those look great Rob! I think they look better on a Maul than on a cub. More proportional. Is there such a thing as too big?
See you at JC! Aero can't wait to pee on 'em and break 'em in

I know a guy at RDM who asked (while flying) to land on an old abandoned taxiway (Zulu) that is dirt and gravel and connects the approach ends of runway 22 and 28. The response was aproved as requested "at your own risk". This was a long time ago but it never hurts to ask. All they can say is no.

So true: we have a guy who is on bushwheels and always ask to take off in the grass, answer is you can taxi on grass no take off or landings.
