In my hang glider it was never an issue, all take offs were into the wind as well as landings. With engine, wheels and a runway for take offs in cross wind as soon as I rotate I pick a heading on the horizon that keeps my track in line with the runway ala crabbing. When landing same thing, looking towards the far end of the runway and keeping the runway's heading by whatever course offset is needed. Right before touchdown line up with the runway. My home strip is dirt, so there is some give on that surface if the touch down isn't perfect for straight down runway alignment.
I'm still in the learning phase, so only fly with <10 mph crosswind. It is windy in my area so I will get a lot of practice and will fine tune my technique for higher winds. Having an engine gives me more options during landing like correction for coming in short, controlling my rate of descent and of course for a botched set up the really sweet option of full power and a go around. Couldn't do that 40 years ago in my hang glider.
