I guess the 2-legged wildlife problem out in the sticks these days is meth cookers. I can remember when it was good advise not to hike, hunt, etc in Humbolt Cunty Calif cuz of trigger-happy pot farmers. I guess they're all up north these days growing "BC bud".
I was road-hunting grouse along USFS roads here in western WA a couple years ago when we came to a corner where a bunch of scruffy looking types were kinda camped out right on & blocking the road. We smiled, waved, and turned around-- and all we got was dirty looks. Probably a blockade for a meth-cooking op further up the line. Kinda spooky-- we had guns, but probably so did they.....

You are correct there are several spots to land on the sand bars starting from several miles north of Sacramento all the way up to Redding. The sand does get very "soft" deeper into the beach. Best to work the shoreline.
I have landed a couple of times north of Colusa on the Sacramento River. I try to stay out of the way of fisherman and recreational boaters.

Aviator PA11,
I decided to stop by at the last minute and check out your strip. Nice, good prevailing wind angle and dry. I spoke with your Dad and brother good folks.
Great day to fly yesterday. Catch up with you next time.
